Ir-USB Communications Special Interest Group
Through wear and tear, an electric-contact-point can have many physical problems such as poor contact, malfunctions of connectors and others. Over time, these malfunctions become more common as devices are frequently connected and disconnected. For example, if you want to play your mobile music player, you have to attach and detach it with a docking station frequently. But IrUSB offers an efficient content exchange solution without the requirement of electrical contact. This SIG is formed to develop a method of using USB 2.0 technology along with IrDA communications to convert the electrical signals to an infrared signal to be transmitted over the wireless high-speed infrared communication. The infrared signal of the transducer and the electrical signal by USB will function as simulated communications. If you would like to join this SIG, please contact Midori at midori@irda.org .
